1. Acceptance

By using Envelop, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

2. What Envelop Is

Envelop is a subscription-based envelope budgeting web app. You use it to manage your own personal budget. There is no interaction between users.

3. Your Account

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. You must be at least 18 years old to use Envelop.

4. Subscription & Payment

Envelop is a paid service billed monthly or annually via Stripe. You get a 14-day free trial when you register — no credit card required. After your trial, a subscription is required to continue using the app. You can cancel at any time from your account settings. See section 6 for how refunds work.

A subscription includes full access to Envelop. There are no paid tiers and no features reserved for a higher plan. Anything we add to Envelop is included in your subscription at no extra cost.

5. Price Guarantee

When you begin a paid subscription, the recurring price you agree to at that time is locked for as long as your subscription remains continuously active. We will not raise the price of an active subscription. If we change our pricing in the future, the new pricing applies only to subscriptions that begin after the change takes effect. Anyone with an active subscription from before the change keeps the price they originally agreed to, with no action required on their part.

This guarantee depends on your subscription remaining active without interruption. If you cancel and later start a new subscription, or if you switch between the monthly and annual plans, the pricing in effect at that time will apply to the new subscription or plan.

This is a binding term, not a marketing promise. We include it here so that the commitment we make on our website and blog is part of the agreement you enter with us.

6. Refunds

Subscription payments are non-refundable for the billing period they cover. When you cancel, your subscription stops renewing and you keep full access until the end of the period you have already paid for. We do not refund unused time within a billing period.

We offer a 14-day free trial with no credit card required, so that you can decide whether Envelop is right for you before you pay anything. We encourage you to use it.

Annual subscriptions are treated differently. If you are unhappy with the service, contact us. We will consider a prorated refund for the unused portion of an annual subscription on a case by case basis.

If something has genuinely gone wrong, such as a billing error or a charge you did not authorize, use our contact form or email support@getenvelop.app and we will put it right.

Nothing in this section limits any rights you may have under the consumer protection laws that apply where you live.

7. Your Data

Your budget data belongs to you. We store it to provide the service. You can request deletion of your data at any time through our contact form, or by emailing support@getenvelop.app. See our Privacy Policy for details on how we handle your information.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse Envelop — for example, by attempting to hack, reverse-engineer, or disrupt the service, or by using it for any unlawful purpose.

9. Service Availability

We aim to keep Envelop available and reliable, but we can't guarantee uninterrupted access. We may perform maintenance, make changes, or discontinue the service with reasonable notice.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

Envelop is provided "as is." We make no warranties about the accuracy of any calculations or the fitness of the app for any particular purpose. Always verify important financial decisions independently.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Envelop's liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months preceding any claim.

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Louisiana.
