This Privacy Notice for Envelop ("we," "us," or "our") describes how and why we might access, collect, store, use, and/or share ("process") your personal information when you use our services, including when you visit getenvelop.app or use the Envelop budgeting app.

Our commitment, in plain language

Before the legal detail below, here is what we actually do. Every line of this is a description of how Envelop is built, not a promise we are asking you to take on faith.

• We never connect to your bank. We do not ask for your bank login, we do not store account numbers, and we hold no financial credentials of any kind. Envelop has no bank sync, so there is nothing for us to hold.
• We do not analyze your financial data. Your envelopes, transactions, balances, and goals are yours. We do not read them, mine them, or aggregate them, not even internally. We look at ordinary business numbers, such as how many people have subscribed and whether trials convert, but no dollar amount from anyone's budget is ever part of that.
• We do not sell or rent your information. Not to advertisers, not to data brokers, not to anyone. There is no business model here that depends on your data.
• We run no trackers. No analytics, no advertising pixels, no session recording, no third-party scripts. Our fonts and icons are served from our own server, so no outside company sees you simply because you visited us.
• The only personal information we hold is your email address, so that you can sign in and we can contact you about your account. You name your accounts and envelopes whatever you like. To us they are labels and numbers.

To keep the service running we use Stripe to process payments and Resend to send account emails. Our servers keep standard technical logs, which may include IP addresses, for security and troubleshooting. That is the complete list of who touches anything.

1. What information do we collect?

We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide when you register on the Services or use the app. This includes:

• Email address
• Personal budget data (envelope names, transaction amounts, account balances, savings goals)

We do not process sensitive personal information. We do not collect information from third parties.

2. How do we process your information?

We process your information to:

• Facilitate account creation and authentication — so you can create and log in to your account.
• Provide and improve our Services — we process your budget data to deliver the core functionality of Envelop.
• Send administrative information — including account, subscription, and policy update notifications.

3. What legal bases do we rely on?

If you are located in the EU or UK: We rely on consent, performance of a contract, legal obligations, and vital interests as our legal bases for processing your information under the GDPR and UK GDPR.

If you are located in Canada: We may process your information with your specific or implied permission, or in exceptional cases permitted by law.

4. When and with whom do we share your information?

• Service Providers — We share information with Stripe (payment processing) and Resend (transactional email). These providers are contractually obligated to protect your information.
• Business Transfers — We may share information in connection with a merger, sale, or acquisition of our business.

5. How long do we keep your information?

We keep your personal information for as long as you have an active account with us. When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your information, we will delete or anonymize it.

6. How do we keep your information safe?

We have implemented appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal information. However, no electronic transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. You should only access the Services within a secure environment.

7. Do we collect information from minors?

We do not knowingly collect data from or market to children under 18 years of age. By using the Services, you represent that you are at least 18 years old. If you become aware of any data we may have collected from children under 18, please use our contact form, or email support@getenvelop.app.

8. What are your privacy rights?

In some regions (EEA, UK, Switzerland, Canada), you have rights including access, rectification, erasure, restriction, and data portability. To make a request, use our contact form, or email support@getenvelop.app.

Account Information

You can review or change your account information at any time in your account settings. Upon request to terminate your account, we will deactivate or delete your account and information from our active databases.

9. Controls for Do-Not-Track features

We do not currently respond to DNT browser signals as no uniform technology standard has been finalized. If a standard is adopted that we must follow, we will update this notice.

10. Do United States residents have specific privacy rights?

In the past twelve months, we have collected the following categories of personal information:

• Identifiers (e.g., email address) — Yes
• Personal budget and financial data you voluntarily enter — Yes
• All other categories (biometric, geolocation, employment, education, etc.) — No

California residents: we do not disclose personal information to third parties for direct marketing purposes.

11. Do we make updates to this notice?

We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. The updated version will be indicated by an updated date at the top. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or in-app notice.
